Professional relationship
What we build together is a professional therapeutic relationship, bound by law, ethics, and a mutual understanding of its professional nature.
It is not a friendship, though it will contain some friendliness.
Nature of services
I offer individual therapy, couples therapy, and intensive programs. Sessions take place in person at my Florida offices or through a secure telehealth platform, and focus on your thoughts, feelings, behaviors and relationships to support growth and change.
Appointments and scheduling
Individual sessions run 45 or 60 minutes and couples sessions 60 or 90 minutes. We schedule by mutual agreement, and the time is held for you.
Cancellation and no-show policy
Cancellations or rescheduling made with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged the full session fee. Genuine emergencies are handled case by case.
Fees and payment
Individual sessions are $150 for 45 minutes online or $200 for 60 minutes. Couples sessions are $200 for 60 minutes or $300 for 90 minutes in person. Assessments are $350. Intensives are $1,800 for six weeks and $3,200 for twelve.
Payment is due after each session. Cash, checks and digital payments are accepted. Superbills are provided for out-of-network insurance reimbursement.
Confidentiality and privacy
What you share is confidential and protected by law. The recognized exceptions are suspected child abuse, suspected elder abuse, imminent danger to yourself or another person, a valid court order, and certain public health threats.
Full detail is set out in the Privacy Policy.
Communication and contact
Email receives a response within 24 business hours. Email is not a crisis channel — in an emergency, call 988 or your local emergency services.
Informal channels such as text messaging and social media are not used for clinical communication.
Telehealth services
Remote sessions require a private location, use of the encrypted platform only, no unauthorized recording, and an understanding that internet connections carry inherent risk.
Termination of therapy
You may end therapy at any time. I may conclude the work if it is no longer benefiting you, if you would be better served by a different level of care, if these terms are violated, or if safety is compromised. Where care ends, I provide appropriate referrals.
Client records
Records are kept confidential and secure in compliance with HIPAA and Florida state law. You may request access to your records in writing; associated costs may apply.
Social media and dual relationships
To protect your confidentiality, I don't connect with current or recent former clients on social media. All contact stays professional and related to your care.
Limitations of therapy
Progress depends on your engagement and willingness to do the work. I can't guarantee specific outcomes.
Consent to treatment
Engaging in therapy indicates that you understand and agree to these terms and consent to treatment. Questions about anything set out here are welcome at any point — including before you begin.
